Jane Galt
NAME :
Yevheniia Hlotova, but in the modeling world, I am known as Jane Galt.
OCCUPATION :
Model.
WHERE WERE YOU BORN :
I was born in Ukraine, Kharkiv region, Kupiansk. At the moment, it’s the front line.
WHERE DO YOU LIVE :
Now I’m based in Milan.

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR FAVOURITE MODELLING ASSIGNMENT :
I love working on video projects, especially when I get to play different characters. It’s my favorite part, transforming into someone completely different.
WHICH MODELS HAVE INSPIRED YOU :
Christy Turlington, Coco Rocha and Shalom Harlow.
WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR GREATEST MODELING ACHIEVEMENT :
I haven’t done a project yet that I would call my greatest achievement, but I’ve worked on several projects that I’m proud of in different ways, a campaign for Just Cavalli, Mustang and a collaboration with Zara as an influencer.

ANY MODELING MISHAPS :
I had so many adventures in my nine years of modeling. There were those magical winter shoots where I had to swim in the sea while the crew stayed cozy in their jackets. Or there was the 11-hour wait for my turn to shoot in a van with no food, no water, and no escape. We were in the middle of nowhere, and even a bottle of water felt like a luxury. Or once, we were shooting a campaign for Fila, and they actually forgot me in the parking lot. The whole crew went off to work without me while I was wandering around, trying to find the way out. Modeling sounds glamorous, right? It can be but behind the scenes, it’s a wild ride, and trust me, this is just the tip of the iceberg.
WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR MOST CHALLENGING ASSIGNMENT :
Once, I was shooting for a sports app, and for the entire day, I had to ride a bike up and down a mountain serpentine, starting at 4 a.m. The weather wasn’t on our side, it was so foggy that we had to reshoot the scene on another day in better conditions. Another memorable one happened quite recently. I worked with an amazing, highly professional team, but I spent the whole day climbing over a stone wall they had built just for the shot. We started at 5 a.m., and by the end, my hands were burning from exhaustion, but we pulled it off beautifully.

IF YOU COULD WORK WITH ANY PHOTOGRAPHER ALIVE OR DEAD, WHO WOULD YOU CHOOSE :
When I was 17 and studying at the Faculty of Film and Television Arts, I first discovered the work of Annie Leibovitz. I was deeply impressed by her photography, and to this day, I still dream of working with her.
YOUR FAVOURITE CLOTHING DESIGNER :
Phoebe Philo, I love that golden era when she was creating intellectual fashion for Celine.
DESCRIBE YOURSELF IN 3 WORDS :
Hardworking, passionate, responsible.
WHAT IS YOUR EARLIEST MEMORY :
My earliest memory is my mother putting on red lipstick. Sunbeams streamed through the window, illuminating the tiny dust particles dancing in the air, as if they were fireflies. I remember how beautiful she looked in that light.

WHAT WERE YOU LIKE AS A KID :
As a child, I had a strong sense of justice so strong that I’ve only learned to channel it in recent years. Back then, if I saw someone being treated unfairly, I would stand up for them without a second thought, even if it meant getting into a fight. I was a responsible and highly disciplined child, shaped by years of ballroom dancing, where discipline was part of the ballroom culture. But I was also fiery; I could erupt like a volcano in an instant. That intensity came from being deeply sensitive; at the time, the only way I knew to protect myself was to respond with more force than the person confronting me. With age, I’ve found other ways to protect my peace. I no longer need aggression; instead, I simply step away from anyone who disrespects my boundaries.
WHAT IS YOUR MOST TREASURED POSSESSION :
As someone who has lost their home and their City, I find it easy to part with things without regret. What truly matters to me are the lives and health of my loved ones, though I suppose that can’t really be called a possession.

CHOOSE A SUPERPOWER :
I’ve always wished I could teleport, just so I could see my family more often. With my job, which keeps me constantly traveling around the world, I really miss my parents. Life would be so much easier if I could just teleport to them whenever I wanted.
WHAT IS YOUR WORST TRAIT :
I’m naturally passionate, which sometimes means I react quickly when something doesn’t sit right with me — but I’m learning to pause, take a breath, and respond more calmly.
WHAT KEEPS YOU AWAKE AT NIGHT :
Excitement about new projects or ideas
WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT :
I believe my greatest achievement is the bond I share with my parents and friends. To me, it’s both a blessing and a luck but also the result of years of effort. We’ve learned how to truly communicate, and today we’re incredibly close, despite our strong and sometimes stubborn personalities. I’m proud of my friends; I’m surrounded by genuinely beautiful souls. Maintaining these relationships is my proudest accomplishment because I consciously strive to be a good daughter and a good friend. It’s a daily practice, a labor of love. I’m also proud of my ability to rise to any challenge, to deliver on what’s expected of me even in moments of intense stress. That resilience is something I carry with me into every part of my life.

WHAT’S YOUR GUILTY PLEASURE :
Simply lying down and doing absolutely nothing for me, it’s the most productive kind of rest, a quiet little luxury. And, I have to admit, I also love spending money when I’m feeling sad. Sadness is dangerous for me… and even more for my bank account.
WHAT’S THE BEST THING YOU EVER STOLE :
A few minutes of sleep on set. I love taking naps during lunch breaks. I can even sleep on the floor if I have to. I’ve gotten into trouble for it more than once. Other than that, I’ve never stolen anything in my life. My father used to put people like that in jail, so I was a good girl.
YOU ARE HEADING TO THE INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION, CHOOSE 4 PEOPLE TO TAKE A LONG.
My dad, my mom, and my friends.
WHAT WOULD A PERFECT DAY FOR YOU LOOK LIKE :
My perfect day would start with sleeping in, then taking some quiet time to read my favorite books. I’d dress up in something that makes me feel beautiful and go for a walk with my family or friends, or all together. And the weather has to be sunny, but not too hot.
IF YOU COULD BE FRIENDS WITH A FICTIONAL CHARACTER WHO WOULD IT BE :
Dumbledore, I’d love to understand how the mind of such an extraordinary character works. There’s also so much I could learn from Vito Corleone with his wisdom and ability to read people, and from Rhett Butler with his charm and unapologetic honesty.

WHAT’S THE BEST PART OF YOUR JOB :
The end of it…… But on a deeper level, the most rewarding part is the incredible, talented, intelligent people I get to meet, people I would never have crossed paths with if I weren’t a model. My work has also given me the chance to live for long periods in different countries and truly experience their cultures first-hand. Also, I get to see new collections and understand fashion trends long before they reach the public, which has helped me develop my taste and fashion knowledge. Modeling has also taught me discipline that I carry into my everyday life. I keep a strict sleep schedule, especially before shoots, and avoid food or drinks that could affect my skin. I’ve built skills that often come in handy during work — dancing, driving, acting, and even horse riding. Left to my own devices, I’d probably just be lying on a soft couch… but my job keeps me moving, growing, and learning.
ARE THERE DAYS YOU DO NOT WANT TO GO TO WORK :
Honestly? Every single time. I always have this little fear that the day will completely drain me but somehow, once I’m there, I get through it.
WHAT IS THE LAST BOOK YOU READ :
The Godfather by Mario Puzo, Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand, and Letters to Lucilius by Seneca. Each of them, in its own way, shaped the way I see life — from understanding power and loyalty, to questioning society’s values, to finding wisdom in the Stoic philosophy.

WHAT WAS THE LAST GIFT YOU GAVE SOMEONE :
Recently, I gave my mother a new iPhone, something practical that she needs for her work. For my father, I wanted a truly unique gift, so together with my talented friend, sculptor Oleksandr Kutovyi we created a sculpture of my dad.
WHAT MOTIVATES YOU :
I’m motivated by the stories and experiences of talented, intelligent people, especially when I have the chance to connect with them in person. Books are also a huge source of inspiration for me.
YOUR FAVOURITE DESTINATION :
There’s a beautiful little village on Lake Como that has completely stolen my heart. I always return there whenever I want to relax.
YOUR LEAST FAVOURITE DESTINATION :
There are places I wouldn’t go back to, not because they’re bad, but because of my personal experiences there. Naming them wouldn’t feel fair to the people or cultures that simply didn’t resonate with me.
WHAT IS ON YOUR BUCKET LIST :
I honestly don’t know you’ve just asked me a question that might keep me awake tonight. The truth is, everything I’ve ever wanted to do in life, I do… sooner or later.

DO YOU LIKE BEING INTERVIEWED :
This is my first experience, so I can’t give a definite answer. But I believe if I didn’t like it, I wouldn’t have agreed to do it.
WHAT’S THE CLOSEST YOU HAVE COME TO DEATH :
On February 24, 2022, when the enemy invaded Ukraine, and every time I return to Ukraine, I’m reminded that the enemy still bombs civilians night after night.
IF YOU HAD A BOAT, WHAT WOULD IT BE CALLED :
TLWL – To Life with Love.
A PERSONAL MOTTO OR MESSAGE :
Even the darkest night doesn’t last forever; morning always comes. So don’t give up. If today feels too heavy, just wait till tomorrow. And one day, on one of those ordinary mornings, everything will change. Just keep going.
